CRESCENT MOON: The moon is central to Judaic tradition and the Hebrew calendar relies heavily on the moon’s cycle to regulate the Jewish months. The new moon sanctification prayer in Judaism reminds Jews of the moon’s beauty and helps one to appreciate afresh the world that God created. Like the moonlight, Jewish people reflect an important source their light - God and His Torah. Reflecting this glow is an honor, and like the moon, Jews receive beauty and then send it back into the world through their actions and their very being. The moon’s waxing and waning crescents remind us that strength is rarely static: there are times when nations and people are strong and times when they are weaker. These changes remind Hebrews that even when we seem down and hopeless, change is around the corner. Like the moon, even when it seems diminished and nearly invisible, we are confident that it will re-emerge, growing brilliant and full once more. So too with the Jewish people: even in their darkest times, they have relied on God’s promise that the Jews will never disappear and that one day we will be restored to their dazzling fullness.“Just as I dance toward you but cannot touch you, so may none of my enemies be able to touch me for evil. CHAI: Chai is the Hebrew word for life. The word – consisting of two Hebrew letters chet (ח) and yud (י) – is a Jewish symbol frequently appearing on Judaica jewelry. Each Hebrew letter has a numerical equivalent, and the sum of chet (a numerical value of 8) and yud (a numerical value of 10) is 18. In gematria, a form of Jewish numerology, the number 18 also stands for "life", because the number of Hebrew letters that spell "Chai" or "living", add up to 18. Because 36 is 18 x 2, it represents "two lives". 

HAND OF GOD / MIRIAM (HAMSA): In Jewish faith, the Hand of Miriam is also known as the Hand of God or as the Hamsa. "Hamsa" is also the Hebrew word for five. While some believe this represents the five fingers on the talisman, others say this symbolizes the five books of the Torah: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy.

Your jewelry is handcrafted to be lasting, but gemstones, crystals, and beads are not eternal. Likewise, almost all metal discolors over time. Therefore, gold and silver plating – known for its beauty and affordability – requires care. By following these simple tips, however, you can maintain your jewelry’s beauty for as long as possible:

> AVOID HEAT EXPOSURE ~ Leaving your jewelry in sunlight or exposed to heat for an extended period of time can also cause beads and metal to discolor. Remember to remove your jewelry while exercising.

> STORE SAFELY ~ Always store your jewelry safely in a soft pouch, soft cloth – or secure in a box or drawer – separate from other jewelry. Never wear your jewelry to bed and remove when sleeping. Use a soft microfiber cloth to polish.
